Short Biography

I am a doctoral candidate in the Educational Psychology and Educational Technology program at the Michigan State University. I have an undergraduate degree (B.E.) in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Rajiv Gandhi Technical University, Bhopal, and Master’s degree (M.S.) in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Florida, Gainesville. My research interests focus on the process of reading and writing in multimodal environments, and I prefer to concentrate on research in multiliteracies (e.g.: new, media, and visual), science literacies, and creativity in science and mathematics.

  • Instructor working to design and teach courses that form the MSU Urban STEM program for teachers in Chicago Public Schools (CPS).
  • Working with 10 teachers from CPS each year on their ambitious year-long projects.

Fall 2015 – present: Teaching Assistant, Reflections on Learning (TE 150).

  • Solo sectional instructor teaching ~20-25 students, discussing foundational topics on educational psychology.

Fall 2013 – present: Research Assistant, Deep-Play Research Group College of Education, Michigan State University.

  • Working on several research projects and papers on aesthetics, creativity, and trans-disciplinary learning with Dr. Punya Mishra and Dr. Danah Henriksen.
  • Co-hosting Google Hangout sessions for MA in Educational Technology’s Bridge webinar series.
  • Managed web-presence for Dr. Punya Mishra’s museum exhibition of an anthology of his ambigrams at MSU Museum.

  • Worked with Dr. Punya Mishra to assist teachers in implementing seven transdisciplinary skills and creativity in their everyday teaching and learning.
  • These teachers teach grade levels ranging from kindergarten to high school to professional teacher development, covering subjects like math, science, theater, museum learning, etc.

Summer 2014: Teaching Assistant, MAET Summer Session at East Lansing (face-to-face) College of Education, Michigan State University

  • Worked with Dr. Danah Henriksen and Jonathan Good in training teachers through three integrated seminars in technology, learning, and teaching.
  • Helped teachers explore various uses of technology and get acquainted with what is currently known about human learning and development.
  • This session covered three courses including CEP 800 on learning in school and other settings, CEP 815 on technology and leadership, and CEP 822 on approaches in educational research.

  • Worked with Dr. Anne Heintz and Sandra Sawaya to help teachers design online courses for students ranging from kindergarten to master’s level.
  • Covered the essentials of an online course on various learning and course management systems.
  • Covered key design and content-related challenges in teaching an online course.

  • Worked with technological navigation, instructional design, classroom design, and web design-based projects for hybrid and face-to-face courses.
  • Worked on integrating Double iPad-based robots to increase classroom engagement for hybrid and online students.
